Hinged driveshaft safety coupling 5s.sa2 (cross 30.3×80, shaft – 13/8”Z6)
The torque limiter provides:
- Smooth start-up of equipment.
- Protection of mechanisms from overload beyond the allowable torque.
- Smooth stopping of the mechanism when the drive is turned off.
Operating range: 0-800 Nm.
If this value is exceeded the coupling slips with a characteristic sound. When the load decreases it again begins to transmit torque.
Mounted on a splined shaft – 1 3/8” Z6.
Power: 540 rpm – 45 kW; 1000 rpm – 83 kW.
This coupling is installed on a hinge or driveshaft using a cross Ø30.2 mm L=80 mm.
Radial-pin end coupling (5S.SA2)
6 splines 1 3/8” (D=35). Cross (5.01) 30.2x80.
INSTRUCTION FOR USE OF RADIAL-PIN COUPLINGS
PURPOSE
Radial-pin couplings are used to limit torque and protect mechanisms from damage due to overloads of agricultural machines, for example, when working organs jam. Torque transmission occurs in both directions via spring-loaded cams.
At high speeds couplings often overload due to repeated automatic re-engagements, so their use is recommended at speeds up to 700 rpm.
When the maximum torque is exceeded the coupling operates with pulsating transmission and a characteristic crackling.
Short-term power interruption occurs due to movement of the spring-loaded cams.
Used in loaders, pickers, harvesters, etc.
OPERATING CONDITIONS
If a crackling appears during coupling operation, signaling an overload, stop the machine immediately to avoid wear and destruction of the cams.
The coupling has a limited service life, and without monitoring slipping time the cams wear quickly and load transmission decreases. Slipping during start-up is prohibited.
Lubrication of the coupling elements is carried out through the grease nipple every 8 hours of operation and after downtime. Grease is supplied until it appears through the sealing rings.
The latch is lubricated every 40 hours. Use of Lithol-24 grease is recommended.
