The Arcus TM 95 loudspeaker system is a striking representative of the German engineering school of the early 1980s, where the main emphasis is placed on naturalness of sound, depth of the soundstage and long-lasting musical enjoyment without fatigue. From the first notes the TM 95 demonstrates confident, foundational bass thanks to the 250 mm low-frequency driver Vifa M25 WO-48. The low frequencies have depth and control characteristic of large bass-reflex enclosures: the bass is not just present — it is structured, textured and “breathes”, conveying both the mass of an orchestra and the tautness of a bass guitar. The midrange, implemented through the Philips AD 4060/W8, sounds open and very musical. Vocals are presented with warmth and natural timbral accuracy — voices have “body”, instruments retain their individuality. This is the type of midrange that does not draw unnecessary attention, but it is precisely it that forms the sense of a live performance. The high-frequency dome tweeter Seas H 174 adds air and delicate detail to the sound. The highs are clean, soft, without harshness, with good extension into the ultra-high frequencies. They do not “shine” artificially, but naturally complement the overall picture, creating a sense of space and depth. Thanks to well-chosen crossover frequencies (400 / 1800 Hz) the system demonstrates coordinated operation of all bands. The transition between drivers is practically imperceptible — the sound is cohesive, without gaps, which is especially important for complex musical genres. The soundstage is one of the TM 95’s strong points. It is wide and deep, with clear positioning of instruments. The speakers “disappear” well in the room, leaving only the music. Thanks to high sensitivity and thoughtful design, the speakers open up easily even with medium-power amplifiers, while having sufficient headroom for dynamic peaks.
