Berry ripening time — from the second half of July and continues for 5 weeks, which provides a significant total yield.The berry is very large in size, bright black in color, glossy, weighing up to 25 grams. The berry has high firmness and good transportability. Flavor qualities are very high, sweet, aromatic, with a pronounced wild blackberry taste, without acidity.The variety was named after the leader of a Native American tribe, valued for its high yield, extraordinary hardiness, wide adaptability to growing conditions and brilliant black berries of enormous size. Chief Joseph tolerates heat and drought well, like a true prairie dweller. Thanks to the open habit the bush is easy to shape and easy to grow.
