    Variety COLUMBIA GIANTColumbia Giant is currently considered the largest type of blackberry. This is a remontant, thornless variety developed in the USA. Columbia Giant canes grow from 1.5 to 2.5 m, they are quite flexible, so support (trellis) is required when cultivating. Because the variety is remontant, flowering continues from June to September. Berry ripening begins in July.The berries of the Columbia Giant variety are considered unique, as their length reaches 6 cm and their weight can be up to 20 g. The fruit shape is elongated, slightly rounded; the taste is sweet and sour with the characteristic blackberry aroma. The color of ripe berries is deep black.The variety is self-pollinating; when planting it is better to choose a sunny side, and in summer abundant watering is needed. Winter hardiness is average — down to -20°C, the variety is disease-resistant.
