    Variety CHERNOKORKACherry Chornokorka - a variety of Ukrainian folk breeding, widely adapted across Ukraine since 1974. Fruits are medium-large, weighing 4.5-5 g, round in shape, dark burgundy, almost black in color. Flesh is burgundy, firm and juicy. They are borne on a long peduncle firmly attached to the fruit, which is why they do not fall from the tree even at full ripeness. The pit is small and separates well from the flesh.The tree is medium-sized, forms a semi-rounded, drooping crown, bushy in appearance and not tall. It begins to bear fruit in the 3rd-4th year with an initial yield of 30 kg and in more mature age up to 60 kg from one tree. The variety is self-sterile; the best pollinators are Lyubska or sweet cherries Aelita, Donchanka, Yaroslavna.The plant is highly resistant to frost and drought. The variety is susceptible to coccomycosis in very rainy years. Fruits are used fresh or processed as juices, dessert dishes, compotes and various jams and preserves.
