Variety BAYKONURBaykonur belongs to table grape varieties and has very good taste characteristics. When ripe the berry weight is 12-14 g, under good conditions greater values may be achieved. The berries have an original elongated shape. Very striking in appearance. They reach 4.5 cm in length. Taste qualities receive predominantly positive feedback.Baykonur accumulates sugar actively and loses acidity quickly. Thanks to this the sugar content of ripe berries reaches 20%. The berries are very sweet. The taste is balanced, harmonious. Juicy, dense flesh crunches when bitten and firmly retains the juice, which does not run when the berry is cut. The acid content in the ripe state is a little more than 8 g/l. The berry color has characteristic purple tones. In color it can range from purple-red to almost black with a characteristic waxy bloom. During ripening the berries color unevenly, but on ripe clusters they have an even uniform color. The berry skin, although thin and almost not felt when eaten, is at the same time dense and resistant to cracking.In addition to excellent taste qualities, the variety has good transportability. The berries sit firmly on the stems and are hard to pull off. Clusters withstand long transport, do not deform and do not fall apart. Pavlovsky himself, testing this variety, transported the harvest hundreds of kilometers, noting the undamaged clusters and intact berries. A cut cluster is preserved unchanged in the refrigerator for at least a month.
