Mixberry MGT-501 - a standalone search device. 2 lithium CR123-A batteries • Assembly instructions in Russian and an operating manual Mixberry MGT-501 is made in a black plastic case and measures 86 x 60 x 29 mm with a weight of 187 g (with batteries). A satellite is engraved on the front side, on the back side there are three magnets to attach the device to metal surfaces. The tracker is supplied disassembled; a rubber seal and 4 bolts are also included. Inside the case there is a small chipset where the SIM card slot and the power source are visible. Internals and functionality The Mixberry MGT-501 tracker is built on a 4-band uBlox LEON100 modem (850/900/1800/1900 MHz) and a uBlox NEO 6M receiver. It uses as a power source 2 disposable CR123-A lithium batteries and consumes 180 mA in active mode and 25 μA in sleep mode. Location accuracy ranges from 10-50 meters with a strong signal to 500 meters with a weak one. Hot start takes only 1 second, warm start 15 seconds, and cold start 27 seconds. The tracker can operate at temperatures from -40°C to +70°C and at humidity from 5% to 90%. The autonomous search device (tracker) MGT-501 is primarily intended for tracking objects via the Global Positioning System (GPS). Thanks to powerful magnets, the search device can be covertly installed in any suitable place on a vehicle, be it a car, motorcycle, snowmobile, boat, ATV, personal watercraft or excavator, tractor or other special equipment. It should be noted that the magnets are strong enough to prevent the tracker from accidentally falling off while driving or under extreme shaking and driving conditions. The Mixberry MGT-501 tracker can also be used to track valuable cargo and containers with periodic transmission of coordinates as SMS messages to the owner’s smartphone. MixBerry MGT-501 has dust- and waterproof protection rating IP-67 and consists of a small hermetically sealed unit containing a GPS receiver and a GSM module with a SIM card slot. The device is configured using SMS commands. The device has a three-axis movement sensor, i.e. with any movement of the vehicle or cargo on the road or during loading the owner receives information and can promptly take necessary actions. The most important thing about this device is that no additional services need to be connected for communication with the search device; you will use the basic services of your mobile operator. In the text message that comes from the tracker and is displayed on your smartphone, coordinates are transmitted: longitude, latitude and links to the location on Google Maps. In addition, via SMS you can find out the speed of the monitored vehicle or cargo and the ambient temperature. How does the tracker work? The device is mounted covertly so that it is difficult to find on the object. The device is configured using SMS commands via your smartphone. In "sleep" mode the GSM modem and GPS receiver are turned off. Thanks to this, the device’s power consumption is minimal, and it cannot be detected using special electronic equipment. This is important and can serve as an additional means against vehicle theft. After the period you set, the device "wakes up" — it turns on the GPS receiver and determines coordinates. After successful coordinate determination the device turns on the GSM modem and registers on the network. After registration on the network it receives and executes incoming SMS commands from the owner and sends him an SMS with its status and coordinates, if this is programmed. As you can see, the principle of operation is very simple and at the same time effective; due to the sleep mode a long battery life is achieved - up to 1 year, as the manufacturer claims. The autonomous search device (tracker) MGT-501 is a rather interesting device for locating and monitoring objects valuable to you. These can be both vehicles and your children, whom you put this small but effective device into a bag, thanks to which you will always know where they are, even if they do not answer your calls. The tracker can also become an excellent addition to your car’s security system. In the event of theft you can easily find your car yourself, even if the thieves have dismantled half the car.
