If you have found someone else’s item, we suggest posting an ad on our NDO board, which reaches a wide audience across Ukraine. This will significantly increase the chances of finding the owner for whom the lost item may hold particular value. And it’s not only about expensive belongings.
How to search for a lost item
If you have lost a valuable or important item, post an ad in this category:
- Describe your item in detail. Indicate the color, size, and any distinguishing features that could help locate it.
- Specify the place and time where and when it may have been lost. This will increase the chances of recovering the find.
- Offer a reward for the lost item. This will motivate the person who found it to come forward.
- Monitor messages and calls regarding the ad. Be prepared to provide proof that the item belongs to you: a receipt, a photo, or a serial number.
How to act when you find someone else’s item
Finds can vary. For example: a wallet, ID, phone, jewelry, or keys. If you find documents, first check for contact information to return them directly to the owner (address, phone number, or email). If the find has no contact details, photograph the item and post an ad on our site.
The National Classifieds Board NDO warns — do not try to use or sell someone else’s property, as this is illegal and unethical. Remember that one day you could be the owner who lost something valuable and is desperate to get it back.
