Channel roller for Corn Plant corn header (KMS-8)
Purpose
The channel roller is a key component of the working part of the KMS-8 (Corn Plant) corn header. Its main function is to grab, press and feed corn stalks to the cutting or shredding mechanism.
Proper operation of the rollers ensures:
-
high-quality corn harvesting without unnecessary losses;
-
stable feed of plant mass;
-
minimization of clogging in header mechanisms;
-
increased productivity and harvesting efficiency.
This component is actively used in Ukrainian farms for equipment adapted to row corn harvesting.
Design
The channel roller consists of:
-
A central shaft — made of high-quality steel, withstands significant loads.
-
Auger or spiral-shaped flights — welded or mounted along the shaft at a specific angle.
-
They are the ones that grab and feed the corn stalks.
-
Fastening elements — for reliable fixation of the roller in the header.
Each roller has precise geometry and balancing, which helps to avoid vibrations and overloads in the machine's operation.
Operating principle
-
While the header moves, corn stalks enter the gap between two rollers.
-
Rotating toward each other, the rollers grab the stalks using the flights.
-
The stalks are pressed, drawn downward and directed to the knife unit or shredder.
-
After passing the cutting zone, the stalks are shredded or discarded.
As a result, even collection of plant mass is ensured, crop losses and load on other header units are reduced.
Advantages
-
Compatibility with KMS-8 (Corn Plant) headers
-
Reliable construction — high-strength steel
-
Resistance to wear and deformation
-
Optimal flight helix angle — for better grasping
-
Quick replacement and maintenance
-
Made in Ukraine — taking into account real field conditions
Application
Suitable for:
-
KMS-8 (Corn Plant) type corn headers
-
Farms specializing in harvesting corn for grain or silage
Available in L left and R right.
