The PZS-12M sunflower seed harvesting headers have a number of advantages:

high productivity;
stalks in the guide channels are fed without tilting toward its longitudinal axis. As a result, the unit can operate at higher speeds, which provides an increase in its productivity;
high structural reliability;
the high reliability of the structure is achieved by the absence of longitudinal conveyors for feeding cut sunflower heads to the transverse auger;
minimization of losses.

The original design of the cutting unit of the PZS-12M sunflower header provides a smooth and non-jerky cutting of stalks, which significantly reduces grain losses. The disc knives also have special grippers for the smooth transfer of cut heads to the header auger. There are special containers in the hoods of the channels for collecting seeds, and chain conveyors are installed in the working channels of the guides, the speed of which is comparable to the operating speed of the combine. The design of the copying dividers with stepless adjustment of the pickup height for lodged heads also contributes to the reduction of seed losses. Deflector screens installed on the front shield prevent stalks from hanging on the shield when harvesting tall sunflowers.

The header is aggregated with grain combines: Claas Lexion, Claas Mega, Sampo 3085, Massey Ferguson 7274, Massey Ferguson 9795, John Deere, New Holland, etc. The header is mounted on the combine's incline chamber using a transition frame with an aggregating kit for the corresponding combine brand.
