The mounted disc harrow is designed for non-inversion continuous shallow tillage of soil. The disc harrow is mounted on the three-point hitch behind the tractor. Disc harrowing precedes plowing. It is carried out with the aim of breaking plant residues, loosening the soil, conserving moisture, burying crop residues, pests and pathogens, and weed seeds in the soil to stimulate them to germinate. By subsequent plowing the weeds that have sprouted are buried to a greater depth and die. Disc harrowing significantly reduces the mechanical energy required for plowing, which in turn substantially saves fuel consumption during subsequent plowing.
