Variety PRESIDENT. Its apples are very tasty, sweet-and-sour and aromatic, grow quite large, weighing 150-200 grams. Externally they somewhat resemble the famous apple variety Bilyi naliv. They have a flat-round shape, the so-called turnip-shaped. The fruit skin is glossy, light, from greenish to pale yellow, sometimes with a delicate pink blush on the sunny side. The flesh is fine-grained, dazzlingly white and juicy. The yield of columnar trees is another indisputable advantage compared with ordinary ones. An orchard of them is very productive. From an adult tree 10-20 kg of fruit are harvested each year. This happens at the end of summer or at the beginning of autumn, therefore the variety belongs to the autumn group. The apples are best eaten within a month, they are not intended for long-term storage, although some nurseries claim a storage period until spring. Mostly they are consumed fresh, but the fruits are suitable for drying, making compotes and fermentation. The President variety belongs to semi-dwarf varieties, with a height from two to three meters. The plant width is about 20 centimeters. The trees are compact and medium-sized, naturally forming a single trunk and practically not producing large lateral branches. The wood is strong, large, glossy, dark green leaves densely cover the trunk. Fruit formations are likewise densely arranged on the central leader.
