Variety MARSHMALLOW Mega strawberry Marshmallow — a variety of English breeding, developed at the East Malling research station (Scotland) in 1996, mid-early ripening. The name translates from English as "Marshmallow", "Meringue", which fully corresponds to the unusual texture and unique strawberry-marmalade flavor of the berries! The variety has a vigorous, open bush with a vertical habit. Flower stalks are thick, strong, confidently holding the crop on the plant. Excellent bush structure: convenient for harvesting and for applying fertilizers and treatments. As it ages the bush expands up to 50 cm in diameter, which should be taken into account when planting. The Marshmallow strawberry fruit is large (90–120 g, becoming slightly smaller from harvest to harvest), of uniform conical shape, moderately red in color with a gloss. The flesh is red, dense, with a sweet, rich aroma. The taste is exceptionally wonderful! The variety overwinters well, fairly resistant to diseases: slightly susceptible to verticillium wilt, late blight and powdery mildew. Considering all characteristics, this variety will surely become your favorite!
