COM-900 ― is an ultra-compact, economical, dual-band intelligent industrial GSM/GPRS modem (terminal). The COM-900/485 modem is equipped with RS232, RS485 interfaces and two SIM card slots, which makes it a unique device for M2M applications where reliable wireless data transmission is required.
Ultra-compactness ― the COM-900/485 modem is made in a durable metal housing with dimensions of only 63x15x60mm, which allows this modem to be used in harsh operating conditions.
Economical ― the COM-900/485 modem is an excellent alternative to existing imported models with a serial port, thanks to its low price, technical support and extended warranty.
Intelligence – the modem is built on the SIM900 radio module, containing an internal powerful processor for which there are many standard and customized applications (“firmwares”). Vast experience in developing software (SW) for GPRS modems allows COM-900/485 developers to create “firmwares” for modem operation in almost any application: automated commercial metering systems (AMM), industrial telemetry, gas, heat and water meters, point-of-sale and payment terminals, control and management of information displays, security systems, etc.
Industry – the presence of a COM port, RS485 port and original software makes it possible to successfully connect the COM-900/485 modem to various types of electricity, heat, water and gas metering devices.
The original base software of the COM-900/485 modem provides support for continuous operation with two SIM cards ― if connection with one GSM operator is lost, the modem automatically switches to operate with the other operator. The active SIM card can also be forcedly selected using an additional command. An external controller (supervisor) on the modem board constantly monitors the radio module’s operability and, in case of its “freezing”, reboots it. It can be said that COM-900/485 is a modem that never “freezes”.
