Description:

Repair kit for the pump of the D-260 engine with housing 260-1307121 which was produced until 2008.

Interchangeable with the D-260 repair kit with three bearings and seal sp-1341.

Two semi-sealed or sealed bearings are installed on the pump shaft. A sealed bearing becomes semi-sealed after removing one sealing protective washer. The seal is a barrel-shaped piece that was installed in pumps of many passenger, truck and agricultural engines. It must be carefully pressed into the pump housing so as not to damage the graphite sealing ring, which plays the main role in protecting the bearings from coolant ingress.

During operation, the washer 260-1307169 slides along the working part of the seal, pressed from the rear by a spring. Therefore, during assembly it is necessary to lubricate the end of the seal with colloidal graphite grease to reduce the likelihood of fluid leakage through the seal until the sliding pair washer-seal is fully run in. A thin layer of sealant should be applied to the rubber sealing sleeve 260-1307171 on the rear side of the sliding washers, since small irregularities of the impeller can cause leaks into the gap that forms between the sleeve and the impeller after assembly of the water pump.
