Oversized segment mower for mini tractor KSN-1.4 (with ZRP) is successfully used on flat, debris-free areas; designed for clearing plots of natural herbs, mowing sown forage crops, cutting small shrubs, weeds and lodged high-yield grasses. It features a simple convenient design, performs high-quality mowing of dense thick grass, with subsequent laying of plant mass into windrows for drying and collection.
The cutting unit fitted on the segment mower for mini tractors is a steel bed 140 cm long with toothed segment knives that move in a reciprocating rhythm. Grass that gets between the teeth of the metal plates is quickly cut, leaving stubble 6–8 cm high. The steel segment knives have convenient mountings, allowing worn plates to be easily removed and new elements installed. Special shoes (inner and outer) are installed at the edges of the bed for free sliding over the surface. The outer shoe is equipped with a discharge board that rakes the mown mass to the side in the direction of travel.
The segment mower is mounted on a mini tractor with 12–24 horsepower using a rear three-point hitch system. It is driven to working condition from the PTO via a driveshaft, which transmits knife motion through a pulley-eccentric and V-belt drive that also performs a safety function. If wire or any other object gets under the working knives, belt slippage reliably protects the knives from breakage.
The wooden connecting rod that drives the knives also serves as additional protection — if during operation the segment mower for mini tractor KSN-1.4 (with ZRP) hits a stump or stone, the safety latch installed on the rod pushes the cutter back, allowing the obstacle to be bypassed. The unit achieves maximum productivity of 0.8–1.3 ha/h when working on flat plots. A spare cutting bed is included in the package.
