A small convenient device for mechanized planting of root crops - the motor-block potato planter square chain KSM-35ShE with scoops, is ideal for use in private and small farming enterprises. The unit is designed to work with equipment of at least 8 horsepower, attaches to motor-blocks by a rear adjustable hitch. It performs vegetable planting in a furrow with a track width of 54 cm, showing a maximum performance of up to 0.1 ha/h.
This potato planter is equipped with a capacious metal hopper of 35 liters, inside which is the planting mechanism, which is a sturdy roller chain with round metal scoops attached to it. The conveyor movement is driven from the drive wheels/traction wheels through a chain drive, equipped with a set of interchangeable sprockets to adjust the planting pitch to 15-20-25-30 cm. The pitch is changed by moving the drive chain to the appropriate sprocket. Calibrated tubers loaded into the hopper (diameter up to 40 mm) are grabbed by the scoops, lifted and dropped along the guide tube into the furrow at the set distance from each other.
At the rear, on the transverse frame, the motor-block potato planter square chain KSM-35ShE with scoops is equipped with two disc hillers, which well cover the planted tuber with soil and form a neat soil ridge. The disc hillers have movable bolt attachments, allowing easy adjustment of the distance and angle between the implements. The required planting depth is set by changing the height of the keel-shaped coulter - from 5 to 10 cm.
