The mulcher for mini tractor SCQ 120 (mounted straw shredder) is used for maintaining land plots in the post-harvest period - the unit thoroughly grinds residues of cultivated plants, weeds, straw into a homogeneous fraction and evenly distributes the plant mass over the surface of the field. A thin layer of shredded vegetation protects the soil from drying out, retains moisture, enriches the soil with nutrients, and prevents the formation of a hard crust on the treated plot.
The main working unit installed on the mounted mulcher SCQ 120 consists of a powerful working shaft with a working width of 1.2 meters and 24 hammer knives fixed with movable bolted connections. The knives are made of high-quality steel and have reinforced edges. When the shaft rotates at a speed of 1950 - 2300 rpm, the hammers intensively beat any plant residues, including large-stemmed plants, leaving cuts with a height of 2 - 8 cm. The unit mechanism is enclosed by a metal housing, a heavy roller is located at the rear, and movable steel protective plates are fixed at the front.

The required force is transmitted to the working shaft through a cardan shaft and belt drive equipped with an additional spring damping device that facilitates the operation of the equipment on uneven terrain. The maximum productivity is 0.25 - 0.5 ha/h, which the unit achieves at an operating vehicle speed of 10 - 12 km/h.
