Description of the PRP-80/70 baler-pickup It is most rational, economical and efficient to transport and store mown hay or cereal straw in the form of pressed rolls or bales. The baler-pickup collects windrows of hay from natural and sown cereal grasses or straw from the field surface and compresses them into cylindrical roll-shaped bales, binding them with tying twine-string. The unit is mounted on the rear hitch system of a tractor, and during operation rests on its own wheels to ensure even feed of hay into the hopper. During filling of the hopper an audible signal is given to the tractor driver about the need to engage the tying device and subsequent unloading. Drive of the baler-pickup is provided from the power take-off shaft, and the hopper cover is raised during unloading by means of a hydraulic cylinder.
