TRACTOR HORST 160BN: A HARDENED SPARTAN THAT DOESN'T DO SENTIMENTS When every hryvnia counts and the land awaits its owner, showy equipment and glossy brochures take a back seat. The Horst 160BN motor-tractor is not about pomp: you will need to use your hands and watch every assembly. But in return it honestly does its job, covering all basic needs without overpaying for loud brand ambitions. ENGINE The hood tilts forward against the direction of travel, and if needed it can be removed in seconds — convenient quick-release fasteners help. Under it is a reliable 1-cylinder diesel JD16 with 709 cubic centimeters. It truthfully delivers its 16 horsepower and pulls confidently at very low revs. A multi-stage contact-oil filter protects the piston group from field dust. And a 9-liter tank combined with the engine's moderate appetite guarantees long continuous work in the field. TRANSMISSION AND CHASSIS Wide tires grip the ground firmly. The ability to set the track — stepped in front and smoothly at the rear — helps to precisely adjust to row spacing. The steering linkage is reliably protected by the axle from impacts, and the reinforced rear sleeves easily withstand working loads. With an operating weight of 490 kg the tractor produces 3.1 kN of tractive effort. The 3+1 gearbox provides the necessary range of speeds, and the automotive handbrake securely holds the machine. HITCH SYSTEM Implements for this motor-tractor cost many times less than for a mini tractor, thanks to the rear hitch system of the walk-behind type. You can raise and lower implements on the move while shifting gears: a separate gear-type hydraulic pump has a constant drive and continues to work even with the clutch depressed.
