A grid-tied solar station is designed to earn profit under the green tariff, save consumed electricity, and smooth peak loads.

How this system works:

Electricity generated by the photovoltaic modules supplies the household's own consumption. When the generation power of the solar station exceeds the household consumption, the excess energy is "given" to the general power grid, and when the system's generation is insufficient, the missing energy is consumed from the general power grid. Payment under the "green" tariff is made at the end of each month for the excess generated electricity (that is, for the positive difference between the station's generation reading and the household consumption).

A feature of this type of photovoltaic stations is that the system operates only when there is voltage in the external power grid.

System performance:

Annual electricity production from the station during one year of operation will be 21 000 - 21 700 kWh.

Production in real conditions depends on actual meteorological conditions and may differ by ±15%;

Economic effect:

The amount of capital investment for equipment will be 15 060 $.

On average a grid station with a capacity of 20 kW produces about 21.7 MWh of electricity per year of operation.

The price of one kilowatt under the “green” tariff is 0.164 €, for 1 year of operation the station will bring 3 500 $ after taxes provided that all generated electricity is sold.

The payback period of the station will be 3.5 years with minimal self-consumption.
