Description:

Repair kit for pump 245-1307010-G produced after 2006 with housing 245-1307025.

Seal SP/1341 (mushroom) replaced and is fully interchangeable with the seal of the new-design water pump 240-1307030 (barrel), while it is much easier to install, but only if a special press-fit mandrel for fitting such seals is available. If installed without a mandrel there is a high probability of breaking it.

The advantage of this type of seal is the friction pair consisting of a graphite sealing ring and a ceramic sliding ring located in one housing. This allows not having to wait for the sliding ring to wear in and at the same time to reliably seal both the shaft and the bearing assembly with a single motion. Thus reducing the probability of pump leakage by decreasing the number of moving and rubbing parts.

The impeller 240-1307074-V, when this repair kit is installed, is pressed cold onto the shaft and, unlike pumps with repair kits of earlier designs, does not play an important role in sealing the bearing assembly of the water pump.

The water pump housing of the new-design MMZ D-243, D-245 engines is standard, therefore it is suitable for installing a repair kit for the barrel-type seal, which is slightly simpler and more familiar to install.
