Vertical cutter drive mechanism Rolmetal MPN 85.20

The knife drive mechanism (MPN) – the drive of the cutting unit of combine headers (grain, for harvesting sunflower) is a planetary gearbox of vertical design. The drive pulley is located in the vertical plane, and the output bearing provides reciprocating motion of the cutter in the horizontal plane. The MPN is intended for installation and conversion of headers of grain combines regardless of the manufacturer of these combines. The use of the MPN drive on grain and rowless headers for harvesting sunflower is effective.

The MPN is a mechanical device and is an angular bevel and differential planetary gearbox "packed" into one housing. The MPN drive converts rotary motion into reciprocating movements of the slider, which is connected to the cutter.

PP BMZ performs work on replacing cutter drives of various types with the MPN drive (grain headers, for harvesting sunflower, for example Sun Plant-7.4 and Sun Plant-9.4).

The MPN drive is the only type of drive that, when converting rotary motion into reciprocating motion, eliminates lateral displacement of the cutter bar. This fact reduces the load on the cutter-bar and finger system, allows the cutter segments to remain sharp for longer, which, in turn, reduces power requirements for the header and ultimately reduces fuel costs. The absence of lateral displacement of the cutter also reduces vibration on the header, which also positively affects durability.

Mounting hole arrangement: rectangle 220x120 mm (D – 15 mm).
