The repair kit includes bearings of standard width 21 mm.

This repair kit, when installed correctly, allows the pump to restore its service life.

Intended for pump housing 245-1307025-01.

The water pump impeller is made of plastic with a metal bushing inside. The bushing is needed for secure fixation of the impeller on the pump shaft. To prevent the impeller from turning during operation, the shaft and the impeller bushing are provided with flats. After installation on the shaft the impeller is tightened with a bolt. The impeller bushing serves as a sliding ring for the sealing element of the water pump seal.

The seal (barrel) consists of a housing, a rubber sleeve containing an outer frame, a steel spring, an inner frame and a graphite sealing ring that interacts with the sliding ring in the impeller. During installation it is recommended to coat the sealing ring with graphite grease to prevent coolant leakage into the bearing chamber during the run-in of the water pump seal against the pump impeller. The pump housing may have casting defects at the seal seating area. In this case the seating area can be smeared with a thin layer of sealant. To protect the spring from corrosion it should be greased.

Semi-open bearings should be flushed of foreign particles before installation if necessary and packed with grease LITOL 24 or CIATIM 221F. Then grease the pump with a grease gun. If the water pump (pump) MTZ repair kit contains bearings with double-sided seals, the lubricating material is packed in them for the entire service life of the bearing and they do not need additional lubrication. If desired, a sealed MTZ pump bearing can be converted into a semi-open one by removing the side rubber-reinforced washer.
