Functional garlic planter for mini-tractor CHS-14 is equipped with all necessary adjustments for efficient work planting bulb crops on pre-prepared fields of medium and large areas. It has four hoppers with a capacity of 10 L each, intended for planting calibrated garlic (25-35 mm) and onion sets. It is attached to tractors with power from 12 horsepower with a three-point rear hitch system.
On a strong frame made of metal profile, hoppers with seeding mechanisms are installed - a working chain with cups 34 mm in diameter. This garlic planter is equipped with two chain drives on both ground-engaging wheels, which are responsible for the operation of the planting devices - two drives per wheel. During travel the wheels, transmitting rotation through the chain drive and an intermediate shaft, cause the working chain to move upward. With the help of the cups the seeds are lifted from the hopper and, through a guiding element, placed into the furrow. The presence of a set of interchangeable sprockets allows setting the required planting interval to 110-125-140 mm by choosing a sprocket with a certain number of teeth.
The working units are fastened to the frame with reliable bolts and can be moved, thus changing the row spacing from 200 to 530 mm. Also, the garlic planter has convenient adjustment of the coulters and the covering device thanks to special bolted connections. Planting depth is changed by repositioning the coulter height (from 60 to 80 mm); the accuracy of placing the seed in the furrow depends on the angle of the covering devices.
