The inverter generator KS 6000iES ATS has a built-in ATS unit and can operate in both manual and automatic modes.

The OFF-RUN rotary switch on the right side of the generator combines the fuel tap, the 12 V internal power switch and the ignition switch. When the generator is not in use, it must remain in the OFF position so that the generator’s lithium battery does not discharge. The generator is delivered with the battery disconnected; it must be connected under the left cover before first use. The battery is charged by the internal charging module while the generator is running, or when there is 230 V present on MAINS INPUT (regardless of the position of the rotary switch).

The voltage on MAINS INPUT 230V is monitored as soon as the rotary switch is set to RUN and the ATS SWITCH is set to ON. If the 230 V on MAINS INPUT disappears, the ATS controller starts the generator and switches the 230 V sockets to power from the generator’s inverter module.

The KS 6000iES ATS has a CEE 230V 32A socket, which is wired differently depending on the generator version.

The CEE 230V 32A socket is active both when operating from MAINS INPUT and when operating from the generator.

When operating from MAINS INPUT the CEE 230V 32A socket has the same system (IT, TN, TT) as that present at the MAINS INPUT. The generator must be grounded in TT and TN systems with a copper cable 6–10 mm² (depending on local regulations), connecting its grounding bolt to the same grounding bus to which the MAINS INPUT 230V supply is grounded. The protective earth (PE) pin of the socket is connected to the generator’s grounding bolt.

The CEE 230V 32A socket, after switching the supply to the generator, has an IT system with isolated neutral. Rules and protective measures for IT systems must be observed.

With this generator option it is possible to provide only direct backup power to electrical consumers that can operate in both TN and IT networks. Powering an entire house in automatic mode is not possible!

If you wish to automatically power selected electrical consumers or groups of them (house, office, etc.) in a TN system with a grounded neutral conductor, we recommend using Version 2 of the KS 6000iE S ATS generator Version 2.
