    Pistachio KYRGYZ Pistachio Kyrgyz in nature typically grows on mountain slopes in a subtropical climate. In our latitudes the plants grow from 2.5 m in height and above, in favorable conditions — up to 6 meters. Pistachio trees begin bearing fruit in the 5th–6th year after planting, which is done starting in May and throughout the summer. The fruits are healthy and tasty. For cross-pollination it is necessary to plant several seedlings. It is important to know that pistachios are planted in warmed, well-drained sandy loam soil at a minimum of 15 °C, planting at a 45° angle facing south; the root must not be exposed under any circumstances, and damage to the root system must be avoided. In the first years the plant requires winter shelter; later cold hardiness reaches −28 °C. It poorly tolerates drafts, is a sun-loving plant, and likes a dry, hot summer. It does not tolerate waterlogging or overwatering; the plant is drought-resistant. Resistance to diseases and pests is high, it does not require treatment with chemicals. Planting pistachio is carried out in warmed soil; the tube with soil must be well watered, and without exposing the root from the peat mixture, plant the plant into the prepared hole.
