Log splitter for tractor mounted - chopping machine DR14 is used for shredding dry wood with branch diameters up to 5 cm into chips (length 10–12 cm) and for splitting logs from softwood and hardwood species. It is equipped with a powerful cutting mechanism - eight knives made of heat-treated structural steel 45 with single-sided sharpening, mounted on the upper and middle shafts (4 on each), and a conical log splitter with a metal work table.
This mounted log splitter - wood shredder DR14 connects to the tractor PTO with power from 24 horsepower via a cardan joint, which sets the lower and upper shafts in motion; these are responsible for the operation of the cutting mechanism and the splitting device. The main crushing unit is driven by a gear reducer with a system of three gears that cause the synchronous rotation of the shafts with knives in two opposite directions.
The log splitter for tractor mounted - chopping machine DR14 is mounted on a reinforced profile frame equipped with a three-point hitch system, three support legs and a towing unit (tow bar) for connecting the unit to a trailer. Raw material for processing is fed into the crushing chamber through a wide loading hopper with protective sides.
