Manoeuvrable three-row CHSN-3 planter for garlic on a mini tractor is used for planting standard garlic cloves (15-25 mm) and onion sets in fields where tillage and cultivation have been carried out. It has three metal hoppers of 12 L, mounted on a sturdy rectangular frame made of metal profile. Each hopper is equipped with an operating chain with interchangeable cups of 23 and 26 mm and a separate chain drive.
This garlic planter is intended for a tractor with power of at least 12 horsepower, it is driven by a chain transmission with a block of interchangeable sprockets. When the ground-engaging wheels rotate, the drive chains mounted on the shaft cause the seeding mechanism to move, which captures the bulbs’ seed with the cups and drops them into the holes made by wedge-shaped coulters. Then the rows are neatly covered with soil by two flat closers on both sides. The planting depth can be adjusted by changing the height of the coulters from 30 to 100 mm.
The blocks of interchangeable sprockets with which the tractor garlic planter is equipped allow you to set the required spacing between the planted seeds by replacing the sprockets with the necessary number of teeth, depending on the characteristics of the treated area - allowable planting pitch - 80-100-120 mm. The maximum capacity of the unit, at a planting rate of 7-10 cloves per meter, is 0.7 ha/h.
