Description:

Repair kit for pump SMD 18N-13S2 of SMD-18, SMD-14, 22 engines of the new type with a plastic impeller. Open bearings are pressed into the pump and are lubricated by greasing with lubricants LZ-31, LDS-3, SHRUS-4M, CIATIM-221F through a grease nipple and sealed with rubber-reinforced seal rings.

Seal of the water pump of a common construction of the new type, where the sealing graphite washer of the seal and the spring with its retainers are located in one housing. The plastic impeller does not require balancing and is provided with a sliding bushing that allows it to rotate without letting fluid into the bearing cavity. Lubricate the pump sealing spring 01-13S9 with grease and press it into the pump housing.

The seating area of the pump seal can lose its geometry or acquire damage during disassembly, which will reduce the tightness of the bearing assembly. In this case, before installing the new seal it is recommended to lubricate it with sealant. Apply a thin layer of graphite grease to the working surface of the sealing washer barrel, which will protect the pump from leakage until the seal has finally run in against the impeller bushing.

Install a rubber ring of suitable diameter on the bolt that secures the pump impeller to the shaft to eliminate liquid seepage along the shaft.

Assembly, disassembly of the water pump, as well as replacement of the repair kit must be performed with a puller, mandrels and a hand press to avoid damaging new parts.
