Practical six-row garlic planter for mini-tractor CHS-13 is successfully used for planting bulb crops (garlic and onion sets) on previously prepared (plowed and cultivated) sowing areas. Equipped with six working mechanisms, it performs planting on six rows at once, with an adjustable row spacing of 200-330 mm and an overall track width of 2200 mm. Intended to work with equipment of 18 horsepower or more, it is attached using a rear three-point hitch.
The hoppers, with a capacity of 6 L each, are fastened with bolt connections to the strong steel profile with which this garlic planter for mini-tractor is equipped. The seeding mechanism in the form of a working chain with metal scoops 34 mm in diameter is located inside the hoppers. During planting, calibrated garlic cloves (25-35 mm) are captured by the scoops and lifted by the conveyor upwards, where they are dropped into a guiding element and laid into the furrow formed by the coulter, and the two side closers installed behind neatly cover the seed with soil as the tractor moves. The covering depth is adjusted by moving the coulter from 60 to 80 mm.
The garlic seeder operates from chain drives located on both drive wheels. As the machine moves, the drive wheels set the drive chain in motion and transmit rotation via an intermediate shaft and a block of interchangeable sprockets to the working conveyors. Planting step adjustment is made by changing sprockets with different numbers of teeth - 110-125-140 mm. The unit demonstrates maximum productivity up to 1.2 ha/h.
