Effective sturdy garlic planter for a walk-behind tractor CHSN-3 is equipped with three seeding mechanisms with separate chain drives. Designed for planting standard garlic cloves (15-25 mm) and onion sets in fields that have been plowed and cultivated. Operates with equipment of at least 12 horsepower, attaching at the rear with a single-point hitch. It has a strong rectangular frame made of metal profile; the working devices are fixed to the frame using clamps.
This garlic planter for a walk-behind tractor is supplied with two types of cups for the seeding unit at 23 and 26 mm, allowing work with seeds of different sizes. The working mechanism is driven by a chain drive with a block of interchangeable sprockets. During operation, the traction wheels cause movement of the intermediate shaft and drive chain, which in turn sets the conveyor in motion. The cups pick up the seed located in the hopper, lift it up and drop it into the furrow. Rear flat coverers collect soil from both sides and cover the ridge with earth.
The block of interchangeable sprockets with which this garlic seeder is equipped allows quick adjustment of the planting step to the required value - 80-100-120 mm, by choosing a sprocket with a certain number of teeth. The required planting depth is achieved by readjusting the coulter height using a bolted connection and ranges from 30 to 100 mm. The unit can perform sowing on three beds simultaneously and shows maximum productivity - 0.7 ha/h.
