TRACTOR SHIFENG 244BFU: BELT-DRIVE 24-HP AT MAXIMUMS You hear "belt drive" and immediately wrinkle your nose? Like, it’s a "toy for grass," belts constantly break, and real work is only for gears? To each their own, of course, but the price then soars up! However, don’t rush to conclusions: the four-wheel-drive SHIFENG 244BFU tractor proves that a belt-driven 24-horse can play by fully grown-up rules! ENGINE Under the hood is a 1-cylinder diesel engine SF138-2, which at rated 2200 rpm produces its honest 24 horsepower. It starts with a key and stops in the classic way — with the throttle lever. A reliable and proven contact-oil air filter protects the piston group from dust. The 9-liter tank, thanks to moderate "appetite," is enough for long working tasks. And so the tractor does not overheat in the heat, a full front automotive-type radiator is installed. TRANSMISSION AND CHASSIS The front driving axle of cam type with massive wheel reducers is not inferior in strength to the rear ones and connects via a driveshaft. A spring suspension guarantees a smooth ride over bumps, and all units have grease fittings for lubrication. The controls are handled by a gearbox with (4+1)×2 speeds paired with a two-disc clutch. A set of front and rear counterweights brings the weight to 1332 kg, providing a traction force of 5.6 kN. THREE-POINT HITCH This belt-driven tractor is equipped with a full three-point hitch system that withstands loads up to 300 kg — it is simple but sufficiently convenient to work with. Thanks to a separate hydraulic cylinder, the hitch can be forcibly lowered. Work with active implements is expanded by a 6-spline power take-off shaft (with protective cover) operating at 540 rpm. For transport operations under the PTO, a towing pintle is installed. COMFORT AND ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT A footrest is mounted on the left: hold the handle on the fender — and you easily climb onto the cushioned seat. Rigid fenders fully cover the wheels, and on the right one there is a tool box and an additional lamp. The instrument panel consists of four separate gauges, including an hour meter. On the steering column to the right there is an ignition lock and an automotive light switch, and rearview mirrors improve visibility. It’s not about what’s on paper under the hood, but how the equipment behaves in real soil. The SHIFENG 244BFU tractor came not to argue, but to work — confidently, briskly and without unnecessary pomp. Start it, drive out and get the job done — that’s how it should work!
