    UZBEKISTAN PISTACHIO. A pistachio variety originating from the mountains of Uzbekistan. Winter hardiness -30°C. In Kharkiv, pistachio saplings planted in the ground successfully survived the winter (without covering) and resumed growth. The tree, which reaches up to 10 metres in height, grows on stony, poor, steep soils. It tolerates drought well and is undemanding in care. Pistachio is a dioecious plant. For fruiting it is necessary to grow at least 2 plants or several plants together (male and female). It is possible to graft male branches onto female plants and vice versa.
