Description of the unit:

Compressor A 29.01.000 is installed on MMZ engines D-240, D-243, D-245. Tractors MTZ, MTZ-80, MTZ-100.

This compressor is fitted with an old-type air-cooled head A 29.01.050 with spring valves, and a control shaft for the drive gear.

It is impossible to install the petal-type air-cooled head A 29.05.005 on this compressor because cylinder A 29.01.002 lacks locations for installing 2.5m6x12 dowel pins to secure the intake valve.

Other fields of application:

Although this compressor is tractor-type (as indicated by the control shaft handle and the tractor cylinder head), it is often found in ZIL and GAZ vehicles converted with MMZ diesel engines. Such as: D245.12S-2950 (for GAZ-66 conversions), D-243-1053 (for ZIL-130/131 conversions).

The D-243-1053 diesel is originally fitted with compressor A 29.05.000 with a petal-type air-cooled head. But if a compressor A 29.01.000 from an MTZ tractor is available, it can be installed on a ZIL-130/131 with a D-243-1053 diesel because their mounting locations are identical.
