Description of the Kentavr MK20-1 motor-cultivator A garden-urban motor-cultivator MK20-1 is a model in the “KENTAVR” line designed for quick and efficient soil loosening on plots up to 0.05 ha, as well as on beds, flower beds, in gardens and vineyards. The motor-cultivator is equipped with a 4-section cutter with a cultivation width of 450 mm, which allows soil to be loosened with maximum precision and neatness next to tree trunks, shrubs or other plantings, as well as near fences, curbs, around posts, decorative park structures and rock gardens. A wide handlebar with soft ergonomic grips, a clutch lever of modern design, a convenient hand-throttle lever, an additional plastic transport wheel, protective shields that cover the cutter over the entire width — all this makes it unnecessary to apply significant physical force when working with this motor-cultivator, so its use will be comfortable and safe even for women and elderly people. Due to the power of the reliable 4-stroke gasoline engine of 3.0 hp, the motor-cultivator is capable of loosening the soil in two or three passes to a depth of up to 150 mm, even on fairly dense soils or on soils that have not been previously cultivated. The gasoline engine provides the motor-cultivator with autonomy for field work, has low weight, easily starts at low air temperatures, quickly responds to throttle control, and is simple and affordable to service and operate. The engine is equipped with an efficient air filter and a manual starter. The muffler is covered with a protective casing to avoid possible burns. Drive of the motor-cultivator is carried out by a V-belt transmission with a controlled pressure roller. The cutter drive is carried out by a worm gearbox. The belt drive serves simultaneously as a power transmission, clutch and a protective and safety element. If during operation the cutter suddenly jams on a stone or a stick, the belt drive will absorb the impact and prevent damage to the engine and gearbox. In addition, a motor-cultivator with a belt drive is significantly lighter in weight and cheaper in price, as well as simpler and more convenient to operate and maintain than one with a gear drive. The driving and driven pulleys, as well as the pressure rollers, are metal, not plastic, therefore have a long service life. The V-belt is segmented, with high traction characteristics. For safety and protection from dirt the entire belt drive is reliably covered with a casing. The motor-cultivator is fitted with a cutter with a working diameter of 300 mm. The cutter consists of four template-shaped blades in each section. The blades are made of structural sheet steel. The spiral arrangement of the blades reduces vibration and ensures even load distribution on the gearbox. All metal surfaces, including the engine frame, cutter parts and depth gauge, are quality painted for corrosion protection and to extend their service life.
