Description of the DTZ 440DN rotary tiller (wheels 4.00-8) The DTZ 440DN rotary tiller (wheels 4.00-8) is one of the lightest and easiest to operate among mid-class "DTZ" rotary tillers. Very compact, maneuverable and convenient. The main difference from the popular DTZ 470BN model is the diesel engine with 4 hp. The diesel engine is noticeably more economical than the gasoline one, tolerates prolonged work under load better, retains high torque when RPM drops, and therefore also traction. The tiller is equipped with a V-belt drive, which simultaneously serves as the power transmission, clutch, attachment connection unit and an element of the safety system. The air filter with a remote air intake on the handlebar significantly prolongs the engine service life. The tiller cutter width is adjustable: 570 and 810 mm. The package also includes plant protection discs — they prevent plants from being buried by soil and from being damaged by the cutter during the tiller operation, and also reduce the load on the gearbox shaft. Handlebar adjustment by height and steering angle is quick and convenient. A tiller with a V-belt drive has a number of significant advantages over similarly powered tillers with a direct gear drive. If the cutter suddenly jams on a stone or stick during operation, the belt drive cushions the impact and prevents damage to the engine and gearbox. In addition, a belt-drive tiller is significantly lighter and cheaper, as well as simpler and more convenient to operate. The 440DN has a bracket for front-mounted attachments, for example a mower, which can be easily connected using the idle groove on the drive pulley. The cutter gearbox is a strong cast iron unit, the set includes pneumatic wheels 4.00-8.
