Improved productive potato planter for a walk-behind tractor single-row KS13 (with fertilizer hopper) performs crop planting with simultaneous fertilization of the tuber with beneficial mineral nutrients. It has a fixed row spacing - 60 cm, and features high productivity - up to 0.2 ha/h. Standard seed potatoes with a minimum tuber diameter of 60 mm are used for planting.
The potato planter for a walk-behind tractor is attached to a tractor with power from 10 horsepower by a semi-mounted single-point rear hitch reinforced with a turnbuckle. The working unit consists of a durable metal hopper with a capacity of 60 L with a planting device (a drive chain with baskets). A small hopper (6 L) with a fertilizer mechanism for metered application of mineral fertilizers during the planting process is attached to the rear wall of the unit.
The potato planter is driven by a chain drive that transmits the rotation of the traction wheels to the working conveyor. Tubers falling through the guiding shaft are placed into the furrow, fertilizer is dosed from the fertilizer device into each hole, after which the tuber is covered with soil from both sides by two disk hillers. Planting spacing is adjusted by shifting the drive chain onto interchangeable sprockets and is 20–25 cm. A separate drive is provided for the fertilizer mechanism, installed on the opposite support wheel.
The hillers are mounted on a metal profile with ladder-like brackets, and the mobility of the elements is provided by two bearings.
