An improved functional 2-row potato planter for the walk-behind tractor KSN-2MT-90P (with a fertilizer hopper) simultaneously performs two types of work — planting seed potatoes in two rows and applying fertilizer into the planting holes. The unit is designed for heavy operational loads, equipped with two capacious hoppers with a total volume of 90 L and independent seeding units mounted on a common frame made of profile tube.
This potato planter is intended for a walk-behind tractor with at least 10 horsepower; it can also work with heavy motor-blocks, demonstrating a maximum productivity of up to 0.2 ha/h. The fertilizer mechanisms are fixed to the side walls of the receiving hoppers and are driven by separate chain drives from the support-drive wheels. On the opposite side of each working unit there are chain drives for the seeding devices, equipped with a set of interchangeable sprockets to set the planting pitch at 20-25-30 cm.
The working units are fixed to the frame with movable clamps and bolted fastenings, which allow adjustment of the row spacing to 60-65-70 cm, taking into account the specifics of the plot being worked. During planting, the potato planter on metal stamped spoons feeds tubers (diameter up to 60 mm) through guide shafts into the furrow, while the fertilizer mechanism applies a metered rate of mineral fertilizer into the holes, after which the furrow is covered with soil from both sides.
The chain drive of the seeding mechanisms and fertilizer devices is provided with roller tensioners that prevent chain sagging, which enables the 2-row potato planter for the walk-behind tractor KSN-2MT-90P (with a fertilizer hopper) to ensure high-quality uninterrupted operation of all mechanisms during the planting process. Adjustment of planting depth is carried out by re-setting the coulter height from 5 to 15 cm. The disc hillers have movable mounts that allow changing the position of elements as needed.
