A powerful semi-mounted two-row potato planter for a moto-tractor KSN-2MT-110 has high productivity - up to 0.2 ha/hour and is equipped with all main adjustments. It is equipped with two sturdy metal hoppers with a total volume of 110 L, which allow planting calibrated potatoes (diameter 60 mm) simultaneously into two rows.
The potato planter is attached to a moto-tractor with power from 12 horsepower via a rear three-point system. The working units are fastened to the frame with bolt connections with pressure plates, which allows smooth adjustment of the row spacing from 50 to 60 cm. Movable disc closers on bearings can be installed in several positions, forming neat soil ridges of the required height.
The planting process of the two-row potato planter is carried out according to the standard principle – bulbous coulters cut furrows to a depth from 5 to 15 cm, chain conveyors deliver the tubers upward and drop them along a guide part into the furrow, where with the help of disc closers the tuber is well covered with soil. Planting depth is set by changing the height of the coulters.
The seeding apparatuses are driven by chain drives with a set of interchangeable sprockets. Wheel rotation is transmitted from the shaft to the drive chain, which in turn causes the conveyor to move. The two-row potato planter for a moto-tractor KSN-2MT-110 has an adjustable planting spacing of 20-25-30 cm, changeable by moving the drive chain to one of the sprockets. A spring-loaded roller tensioner prevents chain sagging when readjusting the planting pitch.
