Powerful reliable two-row potato planter for a walk-behind tractor KSN-2MT-90 has two capacious metal hoppers with a total capacity of 90 L, has all necessary adjustments and is distinguished by high productivity - up to 0.2 ha/h. Two working units are fixed on a strong ladder-profile steel frame with fastenings that allow adjusting the row spacing to 60 - 65 - 70 cm.
Each working unit with which the potato planter is equipped has a separate drive mechanism, a pair of support-drive traction wheels, a seeding device, a coulter and disc hillers. The unit performs the full cycle of planting operations immediately on two rows, which allows processing a fairly large area in a short time without reducing the quality of the work process.
The potato planter is attached to the walk-behind tractor by a semi-hanging rear mount or to a motor-block with a special hitch. Keel-shaped steel coulters are height-adjustable using clamping bolts to set the required planting depth in the range from 5 to 15 cm. Disc hillers with bearings have good mobility and can be installed in three planes - height, direction and rotation. The planting device is driven by the traction wheels, which transmit rotation from the shaft through a drive chain to the conveyor.
The planting process of the two-row potato planter for a walk-behind tractor KSN-2MT-90 is carried out with high efficiency - stamped metal cups fixed on the conveyor chain lift tubers from the hopper and drop them along the guide part into the furrow cut by the coulter. Two pairs of disc furrow closers capture soil from both sides and cover the trench, forming neat soil ridges. The planting step is adjusted by moving the drive chain to one of the interchangeable sprockets and is 20 - 25 - 30 cm.
