Semi-mounted oversized single-row potato planter for walk-behind tractor P-1CU is used for planting operations on medium private plots or in small farms. Seed potatoes with a diameter up to 52 mm are selected for planting, sized for the transporter baskets that plant them.
The potato planter is attached to a walk-behind tractor with at least 6 horsepower via a rear single-point hitch. It has a capacious hopper of 34 L and a small additional fertilizer hopper with a screw-type fertilizer mechanism, which allows mineral fertilizers to be applied to the soil directly during the planting process.
Both drive-support wheels - ground-engaging wheels with which the potato planter is equipped - are fitted with chain drives: separately for the planting unit and the fertilizer unit. The fertilizer container is mounted on the rear wall of the hopper; the conveyor chain and the fertilizer mechanism are set in motion when the ground-engaging wheels rotate, via an intermediate shaft and drive chains. A special roller tensioner with a spring-loaded stop lever prevents sagging of the drive chain and ensures uninterrupted operation of the unit.
Into the furrow cut by the keel-shaped coulter, the single-row potato planter for the P-1CU walk-behind tractor lays tubers by means of a chain conveyor with baskets, and the adjustable disc covers located at the rear cover the tubers with soil, forming an even soil ridge. Planting step is adjusted by a block of interchangeable sprockets to 20-25-30 cm, planting depth is changed by repositioning the coulter from 5 to 15 cm. The allowable performance of the unit is up to 0.1 ha/hour.
