High-performance unit – potato planter for tractor KS15 (with fertilizer hopper) is designed for the parallel execution of two working processes - planting seed potatoes and applying granular or bulk mineral substances into the rows. For this, the unit, in addition to two large receiving hoppers of 60 L each, is equipped with additional fertilizer blocks with dosing devices.
The potato planter is attached to mini-tractors with power from 10 horsepower using a three-point hitch system. Each planting and fertilizer mechanism has a separate chain drive that activates the units from the rotation of the ground-engaging wheels. The receiving hoppers have strong mounts reinforced with turnbuckles, with a fixed row spacing of 60 cm.
The chain drives of the working units are equipped with interchangeable sprockets, thanks to which the potato planter has planting spacings of 20 and 25 cm. The required planting spacing is set by moving the drive chain from one sprocket to another. During operation, the spoon conveyor drops tubers (diameter 60 mm) into the furrow, and mineral fertilizers are dosed from the fertilizer mechanism, after which the tuber is gently covered with soil.
This potato planter for tractor KS15 (with fertilizer hopper) is distinguished by good productivity - up to 0.2 ha/h. Planting depth is adjusted by changing the height of the keel-shaped coulter within 5-15 cm. Mobility of the disc closers is provided by the presence of bearings and universal mounts, thanks to which covering the planted crop is carried out as effectively as possible.
