Reinforced single-row potato planter for a walk-behind tractor KSN-1 with a hopper capacity of 34 L, for seed potatoes with a minimum tuber diameter of 60 mm. Designed to be attached to motorized equipment with power from 6 horsepower via a rear single-point hitch. All working units are made of durable quality metal and secured with reliable bolted connections.
This planter for a walk-behind tractor is equipped with a high-strength elevator-type planting mechanism – a powerful roller chain with stamped metal cups. The conveyor is driven by a chain drive from the drive wheel/ground wheel. Planting spacing is adjusted by a set of interchangeable sprockets by relocating the chain to the sprocket with the required number of teeth. A special tensioner prevents sagging of the drive chain and eliminates its slipping during operation. The allowable distance between tubers for this model is 20-25-30 cm.
The planter plants the crop by the standard principle – the cups pick up the potatoes, the moving conveyor lifts the tubers up and drops them down the guide shaft into the furrow formed by the coulter. Final covering is carried out by disk hillers – the tuber is gently covered with soil from both sides and a high earthen ridge is formed simultaneously.
All main working elements with which the single-row potato planter KSN-1 for a walk-behind tractor is equipped are easily adjusted depending on the characteristics of the field being worked. The disc closers are attached to the transverse beam using ladders and plates that allow quick changes of height and angle of attack, and the presence of bearings makes the discs maximally mobile on any soil. Planting depth depends on the position of the coulter and is controlled by clamping bolts from 5 to 15 cm. Maximum equipment productivity – 0.1 ha/h.
