Light non-oversized single-row KS3 potato planter for a walk-behind tractor (chain) features all necessary adjustments for productive operation. Designed to plant calibrated potatoes with tuber size up to 40 mm in a single row, with a track width of 55 or 65 cm. Works with walk-behind tractors with power from 6 horsepower, attaching to the machine at the rear with a semi-mounted one-point device.
The conical metal hopper with which the potato planter is equipped has a powerful seeding mechanism - a durable roller chain with baskets made of steel wire, which is driven by the traction wheels through a chain drive with interchangeable sprockets that adjust the planting spacing to 20 or 25 cm. Drive chain tension is provided by two polymer rollers, which ensures uninterrupted conveyor operation without skips and slipping.
The planting depth available on the walk-behind tractor potato planter ranges from 5 to 15 cm and is adjusted by changing the height of the keel-shaped coulter using clamping bolts. The distance between the disc hillers remains unchanged due to stable fixation of the elements on the frame, and the presence of bearings ensures high mobility of the hillers in three planes.
The single-row KS3 potato planter for a walk-behind tractor (chain) performs planting according to the standard principle - the keel-shaped coulter cuts a furrow to the set depth, tubers are delivered by baskets to the guiding part of the unit and laid into the furrow. Two disc hillers capture soil from both sides and cover the planted tuber with a neat earth ridge.
