Sturdy agricultural equipment - potato planter Polish Bomet with fertilizer hopper (row spacing 70-75 cm), designed for high operational loads and performing two work processes simultaneously - planting sorted seed potatoes (diameter 60 mm) and applying mineral fertilizers directly during planting operations.
For continuous long-term work the Bomet potato planter is equipped with a capacious 300 L hopper with two seeding units. The fertilizer unit is mounted on the front wall of the hopper between the two working mechanisms. During planting, roller conveyors pick up tubers with metal scoops and lift them to the feed tube. The tuber passes through the tube into the furrow, and the fertilizer unit with two corrugated tubes meteredly supplies mineral substances to both rows. The final stage - covering the crop and forming the earth ridge, is carried out by three wedge-shaped hillers.
The coulters and coverers are provided with additional fastenings to adjust the row width from 70 to 75 cm. The planting spacing is determined by the support wheels with which the two-row planter is equipped. The soil-engaging wheels have a split design, which allows increasing or decreasing the wheel diameter and thereby adjusting the distance between planted potatoes to 29-32-35 cm. The required size is set by fixing the metal wheel plates to the base using the designated holes.
The fertilizer unit is driven by a chain drive from an additional sprocket on the shaft, the roller conveyors are driven by the drive of the soil-engaging wheels. At the top of the feed tube there is a head that closes the conveyor. A tensioner with a spring is installed on it to prevent chain sagging and ensure uninterrupted operation of the unit.
