Productive sturdy single-row potato planter for a walk-behind tractor KSN-1M is designed to work with heavy machinery of at least 10 horsepower, attaches to tractors using a rear single-point hitch system. Thanks to a capacious metal hopper with a volume of 45 L, the unit plants potatoes for a fairly long time without frequent additional stops for refilling.
This potato planter plants selected tubers up to 60 mm in size, in preprepared soil, with a maximum productivity of 0.1 ha/hr. It has all necessary adjustments and reliable fastenings. A sturdy steel coulter is fixed with clamping bolts, which allows highly accurate adjustment of planting depth from 5 to 15 cm. Both disc hillers are equipped with bearings and can rotate freely, forming even earthen ridges.
The planting unit with which the walk-behind tractor potato planter is equipped is a chain conveyor belt with round metal cups placed at equal distances from each other. The conveyor is driven by a chain drive engaged when the drive wheels rotate. The drive chain is provided with a set of interchangeable sprockets intended to adjust the planting spacing to 20-25-30 cm.
During planting operations, the single-row KSN-1M potato planter for a walk-behind tractor first cuts a furrow to the required depth, then the planting mechanism lifts and drops the tubers through a guide into the furrow, where the root crop is covered with soil on both sides by the disc hillers.
