The productive maneuverable two-row potato planter for a mini tractor KSN-2T-68 is equipped with two working units and performs planting of tubers simultaneously in two rows with high productivity - up to 0.2 ha/h. The total hopper capacity is 68 L; selected tubers with a diameter up to 60 mm are used for planting.
The two-row potato planter is intended for mini-tractors with power of at least 10 horsepower and is attached to the rear of the machine by a semi-mounted three-point linkage. The planting units are fastened to the frame with bolted connections with pressure plates that allow easy changing of the row spacing to 53 - 70 cm. The disc closers also have adjustable mounts and bearings and can be changed in three planes, well covering the planted tubers with soil and forming a neat soil ridge.
For each seeding mechanism the mini-tractor potato planter is provided with a separate chain drive with a set of interchangeable sprockets. The drive chain transmits rotation from the traction wheels to a conveyor equipped with round metal cups. As the chain conveyor moves, it lifts the tubers from the hoppers and feeds them into a guiding shaft, from where the potato falls into the furrow cut by the coulter and is closed on both sides with soil.
This two-row potato planter for a mini tractor KSN-2T-68 plants the crop at a depth from 5 to 15 cm; the required depth depends on the height of the spherical coulter. The planting step (spacing) is changed by moving the drive chain to one of the interchangeable sprockets and depends on its diameter and number of teeth - 20-25-30 cm.
