Reliable grain seeder for a walk-behind tractor S3 2BJ-6 is equipped with all necessary functions for quality sowing work on prepared medium-sized plots. It is successfully used for planting various cereal and pulse crops with productivity from 0.205 to 0.505 ha/h, at an optimal working transport speed of 6 km/h.
This seeder is attached to a walk-behind tractor with a diesel engine of 8–10 horsepower and is fixed to the machine with a rear single-point semi-hitch device. It is equipped with a large metal hopper with six seeding units attached to the lower part of the hopper. The planting units have the function of smooth regulation by switching two drums with different cell sizes designed for sowing different types of seed.
The seeder plants crops in six rows simultaneously, processing a strip 150 cm wide in one pass. Special clamp mounts capable of fixing the coulter shovels to the frame allow setting the required row spacing within 15–30 cm. By changing the position of the coulters, the embedding depth is adjusted from 5–10 cm; additionally, for more precise determination of the required penetration depth, a wheel screw can be used.
Seeds reach the furrow cut by the coulter through a flexible corrugated seed tube that connects to the receiving chamber of the seeding units with which the grain seeder for the walk-behind tractor S3 2BJ-6 is equipped. The working units are driven by the rotation of the lugged wheels via a chain drive mounted on the wheel axle.
