Single-row potato planter for walk-behind tractor, 20L, chain-driven (KSC20) attaches to power equipment with at least 4 horsepower via a single-point hitch. Designed for mechanized planting of potatoes on small plots with various soils. The unit is equipped with a cone-shaped sheet steel hopper with a capacity of 20 L; the planting mechanism is driven by a chain drive from the wheel-ground-engagement sprockets.
The chain drive has a set of interchangeable sprockets that adjust the planting spacing by relocating the drive chain to a different sprocket. This single-row potato planter (KSC20) can plant potatoes at distances of 50 - 100 mm. For planting it is recommended to select potatoes with a diameter no greater than 45 mm. When the machine moves, the tuber in the hopper is lifted onto the spoon of the conveyor chain to the guide shaft and dropped into a furrow formed by the wedge-shaped coulter with a width of 52 - 62 cm, then covered on both sides with soil by two disc hillers.
Equipped with bearings, the disc hillers form a neat soil ridge of the required height by adjusting the angle between the elements. Planting depth is set by the wedge-shaped coulter by changing the height position of the furrow opener. The maximum output of the single-row, 20L, chain-driven potato planter for walk-behind tractor (KSC20) is 0.1 ha/h.

Description
